This Geology.com look at Utica and Marcellus Shale shows its at its shallowest in Ohio. |
The Ohio statehouse press corps is starting to take notice. Fracking and the Utica and Marcellus gas finds in Ohio are starting to get coverage from the big press shops in Ohio. Governor John Kasich's efforts to spotlight the potential of this industry are starting to pay dividends.
The Dayton Daily News ran a story that The Columbus Dispatch ran Monday. The story points out the tens of thousands (that's not a misprint) of jobs being created by lesser shale gas finds in other states.
The Cleveland Plain Dealer ran a story too on Sunday. The story compares Ohio seemingly seizing the moment as a state while governments of our shale gas sharing states sit back and ponder.
I'm doing my part. My Energy Independence Awaits column got a high number of hits in the past month.
It's good to see fracking gaining attention. Jobs coming soon too.
