Competition For Attention?

I read a piece by a "health care reporter" bemoaning, sort of, the attention the manufacturing industry got and is getting from Ohio Governor Kasich. He seems to portend a competition for attention with health care industries.

He misses the point. What's the purpose of research and development but for future production? Especially if policy or financial support is demanded, the health care industry's greatest value is that which leads to manufacturing. They are interrelated.
