Working Together Works

C-TEC's Kelly Wallace and COTC's Lori Crocker, working together.

My ears perked up when I heard it.

At today's Licking County Chamber Groundhog Breakfast, COTC President Bonnie Coe said COTC and C-TEC are teaming up to provide training for the oil and gas industry.  The Utica Shale-inspired industry boom is good news for our region, but it needs an immediate and continual response from the education sector to sustain itself and not hurt other workforce-needy industries along the way.

I heard a lot of great things at today's breakfast, but that one was the best zinger of all.  Wow!

C-TEC is the originator of Licking County's national model for pre-employment training and manufacturing certifications.  They do great work.

COTC is part of the reason that Licking County has not experience the sort of workforce shortages that other places around the nation have experienced.  Their new W-DIC program is emerging as a fantastic business tool.

I don't even need to hear the details yet.  When two great partners get to working together, it works.

Great news. Godspeed.
