Today, the new Licking County Community Improvement Corporation held its second meeting in its history. It also took two noteworthy actions.
For one, the Chamber of Commerce, with whom the CIC will contract for economic development day-to-day services, announced it has hired a person for the top post, Mr. Dan Evers. He comes with a background in economic development at various local government levels in Ohio. He's a Miami University grad too, something two Miami alums at the table have to like.
Second, the CIC approved a contract with Peebles Creative Group for development of a detailed branding and marketing plan.
Our Port Authority has been an advocate for a "single front door" approach to economic development and has put its money where it's mouth is too by being the second-largest funder.
Here we go!
